of Rapid City, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 69
Dale Ernest Bradfield was born at home on November 5, 1939, the son of Byron and Dorothy (McFarland) Bradfield. He lived at home until he was 12 years old. Then he went to live at the State Home in Redfield SD. He moved to Rapid City and lived at the Black Hills Workshop Indiana Home until the present time.
He was a gentle soul who loved trains, music, pickups, family, dogs and short trips. He did let you know when he didn't agree with you, however.
He was blessed with the many people who cared for him at the Black Hills Workshop and the Indiana Home. The caregivers and the residents were family to him. Joy, Ruby, Pat and Connie thank you all.
He will be missed.
Grateful for having shared his life include four sisters, Ruby Motes of Green Valley, Arizona, Pat Valandry of Green Valley, Arizona, Joy Neville and her husband Jerry of Philip, and Connie Holst and her husband Jerry of Rochester, Minnesota; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Dale was preceded in death by his father Byron Bradfield on August 9, 1991; his mother Dorothy Bradfield on October 11, 2003; and two brother-in-laws Bob Motes and Dave Valandry.
