In memory of

Catherine A. "Cathie" Geigle

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the Hospice House in Rapid City at the age of 59

Catherine Geigle was born August 29, 1950, in Wall, South Dakota, the daughter of Harold George and Mary Julita (Naescher) Geigle. She grew up in Wall until the age of 10, when her family moved to Sioux City, Iowa. After five years in Sioux City, the family moved back to Wall, and Cathie attended St. Martin’s Academy in Rapid City, graduating in 1969. After graduation, she attended Carl Johns School of Cosmetology in Rapid City. She then returned to Wall, where she worked at Wall Drug as a clerk and a buyer. She continued her career at Wall Drug for over 30 years.
Cathie was a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wall. Cathie enjoyed spending time reading books.
Survivors include three brothers Nick Geigle and his wife Charon of Wall, Tom Geigle of Interior, and Sam Geigle and his wife Barb of Yankton; a nephew Nick Geigle, Jr. and his wife Andria of Hillsboro, Indiana and their children Ethan, Ashlynn, and Logan; three nieces Denise Gilliland and her husband Matt of Crawfordsville, Indiana and their daughter Maggie, and Brianna and Kellie Geigle of Yankton; Rayna, Dustin, Hope and Gracie, children of Troy Geigle: and a host of other relatives and friends.
Cathie was preceded in death by her two sisters in infancy, Mary and Susan; her parents; a sister-in-law Peggy Geigle; a nephew Troy Geigle; and a niece Terry Lynn Geigle.
Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 3, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wall, with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 4, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Wall, with Father Leo Hausmann as celebrant, and Father Mike Hight as con-celebrant.
Interment will be in the Wall Cemetery.
A memorial is established.
