• There are so many memories of Marie that we all share, but my favorite is of her convincing my parents that she needed me to play a dance with her in Cottonwood...I think I was about 13...and that she and Bud would take care of me! The Philip Five dance band was just a fun experience...thanks to Marie. • I remember going to the Hansen house when I was in the 4th grade. Shirley was my teacher and invited me to spent the weekend with her at her parents house. She had a sister, Chuckie, that was my age, and so I met Chuckie. We had the best potato soup I had ever eaten. • Marie was always part of our family, she and Bud were so special. When she would come to Whitewood to visit the music and laughter began. My Dad always wanted one of us kids to learn to play the piano like Marie did, I can still see her just bouncing on that piano bench and the whole piano seemed to come alive! Good times!!
