of Interior, South Dakota, died on Sunday, April 2, 2000 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 57
Mary Lou Lange was born August 26, 1942, at Wall, South Dakota, the daughter of Willard and Agnes (McEwen) Lange.
She spent her life in the Interior area. She graduated from Interior High School and attended Black Hills Beauty College.
Mary Lou was united in marriage to Lornce Grimes on December 23, 1965, at Rapid City, South Dakota. They raised five sons, Allen, Dean, Tony, Willie and Tom, and a nephew, Travis Saunders, who grew up there. She loved children and they made a home for many.
She spent most of her life providing for others. She cooked in several places in the Interior area. She owned and operated the A&M Cafe in Interior with her son, Allen.
Mary Lou was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Interior.
Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Lornce Grimes of Interior; five sons, Allen and his wife, Lisa Grimes, Dean Grimes, Tony Grimes, Willie and his wife, Amanda Grimes, and their son, Tait; Tom Grimes, all of Interior; a nephew and his wife, Travis and Cheryl Saunders, and their children, Makayala and Wylee, all of Ft. Pierre; a step-granddaughter, Jamie Whirlwind Horse of Allen; five sisters, Loretta White of Interior, Carol Wickstrom of Wall, Rita Barber of Interior, Shirley Gartner of Interior, and Linda Thomas of Interior; two brothers, Gary Lange of Rapid City and Larry Lange of San Diego, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Agnes Lange.
Memorials have been established to the Interior School of the Interior Presbyterian Church.
