In memory of

Harley "Bud" Cable, Jr.

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Saturday, April 1, 2000 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 81

Harley H. Cable, better known as "Bud" to his family and friends, was born October 16, 1918, at Hudson, South Dakota, the son of Harley H. and Dorothy (Petersen) Cable, Sr.  He grew up and received his education in the Hudson area.

As a young man, he moved to the Philip area where he purchased a ranch east of town.  He operated the ranch for 50 years and after retirement he continued to live on the ranch until his death.

Bud also worked as a brand inspector for the Philip Sale Barn and in the Philip area.

Bud was a 50 year member of the Philip Masonic Lodge #155, Yankton Consistory; the Naja Shrine Temple; the 4-Rivers Shrine Club; and the Legion of Honor Shrine Unit.  He was also a member of the Belvidere Kitchen Band.

The Bud Cable family wishes to thank all of his friends and neighbors for the unbelieveable help and support during his life, and especially during his recent illness.  You are all very much appreciated.  We know that "Bud" is in a place where he can ride the range freely and is prehaps "doin' a little fixin' " on heaven's gate.

Grateful for having shared his life are his sister, Mary Bird and her husband, Bob, of Sacramento, California; a nephew, Greg Anderson; two nieces, Jaclyn Anderson and Christy Anderson; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial is established.
