of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Friday, February 11, 2000 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 81
Mildred H. Morsett was born June 7, 1918, at Rosebud, South Dakota, the daughter of Frank and Ethel Pearl (Greenough) Morsett.
She attended grade school at Blackpipe, South Dakota, and her high school days were spent at Saint Francis Catholic School.
She was united in marriage to James Price Pinney at Casper, Wyoming, in 1941. This marriage was blessed with five children.
She was a homemaker and farm wife in the Wanblee area until 1954 when the family moved to the Kadoka area. While in Kadoka, she worked in the restaurant business in managing and cooking in the Kadoka and Philip areas. She also worked at the Kadoka Nursing Home as a cook. After her retirement, she spent time caring for her grandchildren and time with her family.
In 1997, she moved into the Philip Nursing Home, where she has since resided.
Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Richard Pinney of Kadoka and Terrance Pinney and his wife, Karen, of Philip; two daughters, Barbara Eisenbraun and her husband, Robert, of Kadoka and Verda Anderson of Kadoka; 16 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Robert Morsett and his wife, Leora, of Rushville, Nebraska; one sister, Ida Kirkhart of Gordon, Nebraska; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mildred was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Carpenter; her parents; three brothers, Louis "Bill", John "Jack", and Albert; six grandsons, Cory, Kyle and Chad Eisenbraun, Michael Pinney, Robert Anderson, and Roger Carpenter; and one granddaughter, Melva Carpenter.
A memorial is established.
