In memory of

Johanna Eisenbraun

of Creighton, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, December 9, 1998 at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood at the age of 87

Johanna Geigle was born April 25, 1911, on a farm near Pedro, South Dakota, the daughter of Jacob and Dorothea (Hein) Geigle.

She grew up on the farm and received her education in a rural school about 20 miles north of Quinn.

She was baptized at her parents' home on May 17, 1911, and she was confirmed on June 21, 1925, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, rural Quinn.

Johanna was united in marriage to Leo. H. Eisenbraun on May 9, 1933, at Quinn.

They made their home on a farm-ranch about four miles notheast of Creighton all their married life.  Johanna and Leo were known for their large beautiful flower gardens.

After her husband's death on December 5, 1967, Johanna continued to live on the farm-ranch until retiring in 1970 and moving into Wall, South Dakota.  When in Wall, she traveled on many bus tours throughout the United States and also made one tour of Germany.

Because of health reasons, she moved into the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood in November of 1994.

Johanna was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Creighton and served with the ladies aid of First Lutheran Church of Wall, after she moved into Wall.

Grateful for having shared her life are her brother, Jacob Geigle of Seattle, Washington; her sister, Bertha Denke of the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Leo, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Adolph and Otto Geigle; and two sisters, Rose Geigle in infancy and Emilie Geigle.

A memorial has been established.
