In memory of

Rudolph "Rudy" Eisenbraun

of Creighton, South Dakota, died on Saturday, March 28, 1998 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 90

Rudolph H. Eisenbraun, better known as "Rudy" to his family and friends, was born January 31, 1908, on a farm near Grindstone, South Dakota, the son of Henry and Friedericka (Schaefer) Eisenbraun.

As an infant, he moved with his parents to a farm near Tripp, South Dakota, where they resided for about two years before moving to a farm two miles east of Creighton, South Dakota.  He grew up on the farm and received his education in the Creighton area.

As a young man, he operated a farm three miles east of Creighton.

Rudy was united in marriage to Vida N. Engel on March 12, 1938, at her parents' farm near Miller, South Dakota.

They made their home on his farm and ranch, three miles east of Creighton.  Their children, Violet, Harlan, and Jerald, were raised on this farm until 1946, when the family moved to the Henry Eisenbraun (Rudy's parents) farm-ranch, located two miles east of Creighton, where they have continued to reside.  Kenneth and Nickolas were raised there.  Many other children called the Eisenbraun farm-ranch "home", among them was James Vasquez.

After Vida's death on December 6, 1992, Rudy continued to reside on the farm-ranch, where he enjoyed his home until the time of his death.

Rudy was one of the original members of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where he also served as an elder.

Grateful for having shared his life are his three sons, Harlan Eisenbraun and his wife, Linda, of Creighton, Kenneth Eisenbraun and his wife, Joyce, of Hopkinton, MA, and Nick Eisenbraun of Creighton; one daughter, Violet Eisenbraun of Rapid City; three grandsons, Jim Eisenbraun of Wall, Juston Eisenbraun and his wife, Lisa, of Rapid City, and Max Indelicato of Hopkinton, MA; one granddaughter, Susan Dartt and her husband, Daryl, of Wall; four great-grandchildren, Elissa and Kaden Eisenbraun of Rapid City, Rawley and Duston Dartt of Wall; two brothers, Gotthold Eisenbraun of New Underwood and Edwin Eisenbraun of Miller; two sisters, Tillia Denke of Wall and Hulda Haney of Rapid City; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his wife, Vida, he was preceded in death by son, Jerald Eisenbraun; and a brother, Ferdinand Eisenbraun.

A memorial is established.
