Mauriece F. Falzone

of Milesville, South Dakota, died on Monday, July 7, 1997 at his home in Milesville at the age of 80

Mauriece F. Falzone was born August 10, 1916, at Philip, South Dakota, the son of Lorenzo and Marie Louise (Jacobs) Falzone.

He grew up on his parents' homestead in the Milesville area and attended rural school there prior to attending Rapid City High School and graduating from Pierre High School.

He was united in marriage to Evelyn Hoffman on May 14, 1938, at St. John's Catholic Church in Ft. Pierre.

They made their home in Pierre until moving to his parents' homestead near Milesville in the fall of 1941.  They farmed and ranched until the time of his death.

Mauriece was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Milesville; was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #2679; served on the board of the Production Credit Association for 15 years; served on the Leslie Rural School Board for 15 years; was a director of the Farm Home Administration for several years; and was active in the Farmers Union.

Mauriece loved playing his harmonica for friends, loved to visit and travel.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Evelyn Falzone of Milesville; two sons, Jerry Falzone and his wife, Arlene, of Osakis, Minnesota, and Floren Falzone and his wife, Debbie, of Milesville; one daughter, Sharon Colburn and her husband, Larry, of Elk, Washington; five grandchildren: Dorrine, Michael, Matthew, Bart and Lance; three great-grandchildren: Jeremey, Stephanie, and Jessica; a brother, Laurence Falzone of Philip; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mauriece was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established.
