of Midland, South Dakota, died on Saturday, August 19, 1995 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 45
Vincent J. Dinsmore was born April 20, 1950, at Philip, South Dakota, to Frank B. and Matilda (Owens) Dinsmore.
He grew up in the Midland area and graduated from Midland High School in 1968, prior to graduating from Black Hills State College in Spearfish with a degree in secondary education and a major in math.
He returned to Midland where he drove a gas truck for Bob Evans until 1974. In 1974 he took over his father's mail route, a position he held for 21 years. Also in 1974, he assumed the operation of his Uncle Edward Owens' farm-ranch. After his father's death in 1989, he operated his father's farm-ranch until the time of his death.
He was united in marriage to Dianna K. (Marrington) Eldridge on June 15, 1991, at St. William Catholic Church in Midland. They made their home in Midland where they continued to operate the mail route and the farm-ranching operations.
He was a memgber of the St. William Catholic Church of Midland. Vincent served as Director of the Midland Community Fire Protection District and served on the Midland Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the South Dakota Star Route Mail Carriers Association.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Dianna K. Dinsmore of Midland; a step-son, Matthew Eldridge of Midland; a step-daughter, Deborah Snook and her husband, Gary, of Midland; a step-grandson, Gavin Snook of Midland; his mother, Matilda Dinsmore of Midland; two sisters, Sister Cherylyn Dinsmore of Watertown and Pierre, and Ruby Engelhaupt and her husband, Ted, of St. Paul, Minnesota; his aunt, Genevieve Owens of Midland; two nieces and two nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Vincent was preceded in death by his father, Frank Dinsmore; a brother, Blaine Dinsmore; and a sister, Mary Dinsmore.
A memorial is established.
