of Wall, South Dakota, died on Sunday, November 23, 2014 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City at the age of 73
Arlen Bruce Foster was born November 30, 1940, in Wall, South Dakota, the fourth of six children born to Leo and Murph Foster. He attended rural grade school and graduated from Wall High School in 1959. Arlene served in the Army National Guard for eight years, being honorably discharged in 1968.
Arlen spent the past 20 years in the Ft. Pierre area where he worked numerous jobs. He was well known and well liked for his humor and portrayal of holiday characters, whether it be birthday, New Years, Christmas, Easter, or 4th of July.
After his retirement, Arlen enjoyed woodworking projects.
Survivors include a son Todd Foster; a daughter Tonya Faig; sisters Barb Reoh and her husband Charlie of Rapid City, and Lynda Staikoff and her husband Ted of Black Hawk; a brother-in-law Kenny Parker of Pierre; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Arlen was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters Dixie Parker and Marsha Vaughn; and a brother Dennis Foster.
A celebration of life service was held 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 28, at the United Methodist Church in Wall.
Interment was at the Wall Cemetery.
