In memory of

Joseph J. Peck

of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Saturday, January 8, 1994 at the Kadoka Care Center in Kadoka at the age of 86

Joseph J. Peck, also nicknamed "Jobo", was born August 31, 1907, at Old Vetal, South Dakota, to Louis and Nancy (Rooks) Peck.  He grew up in the Old Vetal and Norris, South Dakota, areas.

Joseph was united in marriage to Thelma Young in 1926 at Winner, South Dakota, and to this marriage was born a daughter, Mary Ann.

He worked on the W.P.A. projects with his father and later owned and operated a service station in Pine Ridge for seven years.

He then moved to Arizona where he worked as a carpenter until illness forced his retirement.

In 1968, Joseph was united in marriage to Delores Teaford at Las Vegas and they made their home in Arizona.  After her death in 1983, Joseph moved to Kadoka where he made his home with his daughter, Mary Ann.  In 1991 he moved into the Kadoka Care Center. 

Joseph was a member of St. Katharine's Episcopal Church of Martin.

Grateful for having shared his life are his daughter, Mary Ann Barber of Kadoka; one grandson, Joseph Salway of Garden Grove, California; two granddaughters, Sharon Blackwell of Torrence, California, and Patricia Ditel of Landal, California; three great-grandchildren; three step-granddaughters, Areleen Guttilla of Chicago, Illinois, Maxine Boone of MInneapolis, Minnesota, and Roxann Formanek of Philip; four step-grandsons, Ronald Barber, Gregory Barber, and Dwight Barber, all of Rapid City, and Michael Barber of Tampa, Flordai; 14 step-great-grandchildren; 10 step-great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille (Mrs. Paul) Brunsch of Norris; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to his first wife, Thelma, and his second wife, Delores, he was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Roy, Ernest, and Gib; and two sisters, Viola and Beatrice.
