Randall M. Collins was born February 20, 1915 the son of Elijah (Jim) and Lily (Hawkins) Collins at Battle Creek, Nebraska.

As a child he moved with his parents to a homestead near Milesville, South Dakota.  He grew up there and attended his elementary school in that area prior to graduating from Philip High School.

He had a special interest in music, and played with several bands, as a square dance caller or he also played several different instruments during his time in Milesville.

Randall was united in marriage to Bonnie Radway on December 30, 1940.  They made their home on a farm near Milesville which also became the Milesville Post Office which they operated in conjuction with their farming operation.

Randall was Post Master of the Milesville Post Office for 18 years, and in 1958 he transferred to Rapid City where he continued with the postal service until retiring in 1976 after 30 years of service.

After retiring they continued to make their home in Rapid City, but he always referred to the Milesville area as home.  His favorite things to say and do was "Let's go down home to see friends and maybe do some fishing."  Randall was a member of the Masonic Lodge #153 AF & AM of Philip.
