In memory of

Eva May Foley

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Sunday, September 9, 1990 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 87

Eva May Park was born December 4, 1902, at Sterling, Kansas, to Fred and Nellie Mae (Reed) Park.  She was the second of twelve children.

Eva came with her parents, a brother and a sister to South Dakota to 1906.  They lived in Pierre while her father was working on the bridge that crossed the Missouri River.  In 1907 they moved to a ranch in the Dowling area for 31 years.  To this union were born four sons and one daughter.

On November 15, 1956, her husband, Pat, preceded her in death.

Eva continued to live on the ranch for about six years then she moved to Rapid City.  She lived a short time at Piedmont, Philip, and AuGres, Michigan.  In 1982 she moved to Lebanon, Oregon, to live with her son, Joe, and his family.

In January of 1985 she suffered a stroke which left her severely paralyzed.  In May of 1985 she moved back to Philip where she resided in the Philip Nursing Home until the time of her death.

Eva was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Milesville, South Dakota.

Grateful for having shared her life are her four sons, and their wives, James and Betty Foley of Rapid City, Joseph and Beverly Foley of Kadoka, Thomas and Ann Foley of Philip, and Carlyle Foley of Sacramento, California; one daughter, Nellie and her husband, Robert, Kellogg, of Standish, Michigan; 25 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Otis Park of Rapid City, and William Park of the state of Washington; three sisters, Irene Johnson, Velma Tombaugh, and Josephine Jorgensen, all of the state of Washington; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
