Dale S. Jensen was born March 14, 1919, at Kennebec, South Dakota, to Jens F. and Goldie I. (Walker) Jensen.
As a young boy he moved with his parents to a farm near White River. He grew up there and then worked as a ranch hand for various ranchers in the White River area.
Dale served in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 4th Cavalry. After his discharge he continued as a ranch hand and also drove a gas truck in the Scottsbluff, Nebraska, area.
He was united in marriage to Mary H. Hamer in December 1947 at Kennebec, South Dakota. They ranched south of Belvidere until 1951 when they moved into Belvidere. Dale also owned and operated heavy equipment which he used to build dams in western South Dakota counties.
His wife, Mary, preceded him in death on May 16, 1976. He continued to make his home in Belvidere where he was employed as a water superintendent.
He married Helen Jones in November 1980.
Dale is a member of the Pedersen Stoddard American Legion Post #144 of Belvidere.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Kadoka; one son, Duane Jensen of Honolulu, Hawaii; one daughter, Rayma (Mrs. Rick) Reimann of Midland; seven grandchildren; one brother, Virgil Jensen of Kimball, South Dakota; three sisters, Gladys (Mrs. Alvin) Hix of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Delores (Mrs. John) Bonenberger of Belvidere, and Ilove Sanftner of Belvidere; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary H. (Hamer) Jensen on May 16, 1976; his parents; and one brother, Stanley Jensen.
