In memory of

Carl D. Geigle

of Creighton, South Dakota, died on Thursday, July 30, 1987 near Fort Pierre at the age of 36

Carl David Geigle was born July 4, 1951, at Quinn, South Dakota, to Otto and Brigitta (Denke) Geigle.  He grew up in the Creighton area where he attended O'Neill and Big White Country Schools prior to graduating from Wall High School in 1969.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was discharged in April 1972.

Carl graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota, where he received a Bachelor's Degree in agriculture and was awarded a certificate of Gamma Sigma Delta, which is a honor society in agriculture.  While in college he also obtained his private and commercial pilot licenses.

After graduation, he returned to his parents' farm-ranch operation near Creighton and worked with his father and brother, August.

After his parents retired and moved into Wall in 1977, Carl and his brother operated the farm-ranch.

Carl was united in marriage to Patti Kayl on August 5, 1978, at the Custer State Park Chapel.  They continued to operate the farm-ranch with August until Carl and Patti purchased the farm-ranch in 1979, and were operating at the present time.

Carl was a member of First Lutheran Church of Wall where he also was serving as Chairman of the Elders.  He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post #4674 of Winner, South Dakota, and was on the Crop Improvement Association Board of Eastern Pennington County.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Patti, of Creighton; one son, Jacob Charles Geigle of Creighton; two daughters, Kodi Jo Geigle of Creighton and Hope Elizabeth Geigle of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his parents, Otto and Brigitta Geigle of Wall; one brother, August Geigle of Port Lavaca, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Dale (Alvina) Federwitz of Monrovia Liberia, West Africa, and Mrs. Roger (Marlene) Myers of Colome, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Carl tried to live his life according to this Bible verse: "I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHETH ME." Phillippians 4:13. (KJV)
