In memory of

Amanda Jarvis

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, October 23, 1985 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City at the age of 75

Amanda Fauske was born the daughter of George and Constance (Solie) Fauske on December 6, 1909, on her parents' homestead in the Big Foote Community southeast of Quinn, South Dakota.

She spent her early childhood in that area and attended high school in Sioux Falls.  She taught rural school near Midland, South Dakota, for two years and one year at Simcox School in rural Scenic.

On August 20, 1932, she was united in marriage to Clarence Jarvis at the Fauske home southeast of Quinn.  They ranched near Cottonwood for many years before moving to Wall in 1961 where Clarence worked for Golden West Telecommunications.

Clarence preceded her in death on October 18, 1979.

Amanda was confirmed at the First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Wall.

Grateful for having shared her life are her two sons, Lyle of Philip, and Ken of Pierre; five grandchildren; one sister, Ann Purvis of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; three brothers, Ingebert Fauske of Wall, Sig Fauske of Borger, Texas, and George Fauske of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by her parents.
