Blanche Daly

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Tuesday, May 8, 1984 at the Philip Nursing Home in Philip at the age of 74

Blanche M. Wall was born September 25, 1909, in Chamberlain, South Dakota, to Judson and Anna Weiland Wall.  She graduated from Chamberlain High School.

Blanche was united in marriage to William "Bill" Daly on April 18, 1927, in Philip for many years.  In the early 1940s, they moved into Philip, and she owned and operated the B & M Cafe for several years.  She then worked as deputy county treasurer for Haakon County from 1965 until her retirement in 1974.

Blanche was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Philip and the Church Altar Society for many years.

Survivors include one brother, Don D. Wall of Philip; three sisters, Olive Fenner of Milbank, Madge Lindquist of North Bend, Oregon, and Hazel Stark of Philip; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1964; her son and daughter-in-law, BeLos and Ila Mae Daly; and one sister, Charlette Fenner.

A memorial has been established to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
