of Wasta, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center at the age of 82
Anna Mae Allread was born on October 26, 1933, to Henry and Julia (Linhart) Fahrni. She attended grade school in Delzel and graduated from Wasta High School in 1951. In 1952 she married Robert Dean Allread and to this union two children were born; Penny Jean and Terry Lynn.
Anna Mae worked at the Redwood Motel in Wasta for many years. In 1969 she began working for the Wasta and Wall School districts as a custodian. She enjoyed her job and all the time she spent with the students. In 1996 she retired after 27 years of service. After retirement she enjoyed helping look after her grandchildren. She spent her free time taking walks around town, working in her garden, and caring for her many cats.
She is survived by one daughter Penny (Roger) Roussel and their children, Rechelle (Richard) Burke, Renae (Jason) Nedeley, and Roxanne (Drew) Kirk all of Canada. Terry’s children: Matthew Allread, Raelyn (Nate Bowman) Allread, and Ashley (Brandon) Padden; 10 great-grandchildren Brenton, Kanyn and Brylan Padden, Browen Burke, Cameron, Carson and Carter Nedeley, and Zoe’, Chase, and Austin Kirk; one nephew Gary Glade, two nieces Danene Skillingstad and Doreen Skillingstad; numerous great-nieces and nephews; a special friend Shirley (Stuart) Kitterman; and Kelly (Suzie) Lambert who was like a son to her.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Dean on July 16, 1969; a son Terry Lynn Allread on April 22, 2000; her parents; one sister Dorla Glade; and a niece Dawn Pavao.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Russell Masartis officiating.
