In memory of

Linda Barber Kooiker

of Harrisburg, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 68

Linda L. Anderson was born December 18, 1950, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the second of four children born to Frank and Bernice (Sebade) Anderson. Linda grew up in the Cedar Butte area and attended Cedar Butte Country School through the sixth grade before attending Wall School. Linda graduated from Wall High School in 1968. After graduation she attended South Dakota State and later Black Hills State College.

She was united in marriage to Roger F. Barber on September 5, 1970, in Wall. They made their home on the Barber Family Ranch near Wicksville. Her husband Roger preceded her in death on February 8, 2002. She continued to make her home on the ranch until moving to Rapid City in August of 2004. She resided in Rapid City, where she met Brad Kooiker in February of 2010.

Linda and Brad were married on January 21, 2012, in Rapid City, and made their home in Harrisburg. They enjoyed traveling in the motor home to Arizona and Florida, and most of all their travels west to see the family.

Linda enjoyed reading, quilting, buying shoes, and shopping at Kohls with coupons. She loved everything outdoors: gardening, flowers, and landscaping. She always had an eye for style, whether it was what she wore or how she decorated their home. Some say she missed her calling as an interior decorator. She always thought about others and would do anything for anyone.

Survivors include her husband Brad of Harrisburg; three daughters Christi Michael and her husband George of Quinn, Trisha Eisenbraun and her husband Jim of Creighton, and Niki Mohr and her husband Terry of Wall; nine grandchildren Kyle Barber, Dustin (Chelsea Tobin) Michael, Cyrissa (Travis) Thompson, Emma Michael, Ryan Holsether, Jett, Jace and Jersey Mohr, and Colbee (Kody) Woodward; three great-grandchildren Sterling, Harper, and Ryder; her father Frank Anderson of Rapid City; one brother Craig Anderson of Wall; two sisters Gloria Gunn and her husband Rodney of Rapid City, and Gwen Davis and her husband Wayne of Wall; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In addition to her first husband Roger, Linda was preceded in death by her mother Bernice Anderson on February 19, 2017.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. on Monday, May 27, at the United Methodist Church in Wall.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Russell Masartis and Pastor Gary Geiman officiating.

Interment will follow the luncheon at the Lakeside Cemetery.
