of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Friday, December 8, 1989 at the Kadoka Nursing Home in Kadoka at the age of 92
Tillie DeRoos was born on February 15, 1897, near Springfield, South Dakota, to Rudolph and Gertrude (Boschma) DeRoos. She grew up and received her education there.
Tillie was united in marriage to Fred Ferwerda on February 22, 1920, in Tyndall, South Dakota. They made their early home on a farm in Jones County and later moved to a ranch near Kadoka. In 1954 they both retired and at that time moved into Kadoka.
Survivors include a great-nephew, Cameron (Doris) Ferwerda, of Rapid City; one sister, Maude (Fred) Spohn of Springfield; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and caring friends.
