George Thomas Hart was born March 22, 1926, in Philip, South Dakota, the son of George William and Mary Margaret (Hanson) Hart. He grew up and received his education in Philip. After his education, George entered the US Navy on October 28, 1944. He was honorable discharged on July 12, 1946, and returned to Philip.

George was united in marriage to Ella M. Fitch on November 22, 1949, in Huron, South Dakota, and to this union were born six children. He then moved to Seattle, Washington, where he worked construction for four years before moving to Denver, where he worked for Coors Brewing Company.

George was united in marriage to Barbara Brown on May 30, 1975. They made their home in Thornton, Colorado, all their married life. George continued to work at Coors until retiring in 1988.

George enjoyed fishing and camping, and working on cars, campers, or anything he could try and fix. He also enjoyed playing pool and cards.

Survivors include his wife Barb of Thornton, Colorado; one son Steven (Vickie) Hart of Arvada, Colorado; four daughters Linda (Keith) Kuchenbecker of Black Hawk, Pam (Jerry) Ingram of Philip, Cindy (Kent) O’Connell of Spooner, Wisconsin, and Susan (Jack) Heinz of Philip; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

George was preceded in death by a son George Thomas “Tom” Hart; his parents; three sisters Ruth “Eileen” Hoag, Mary Ankrum, and Margaret Jean Hart; and one brother Francis Hart.
