Lawrence “Terry” Hunt was born February 17, 1945, in the Midland Hospital, the fourth of 18 children born to Lyle and Ida (Fosheim) Hunt. Terry was baptized and confirmed at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland. Terry grew up in Midland where he received his education, with the exception of his sophomore year that was spent at Ft. Pierre. Terry graduated from Midland High School in 1963.

As a young man, Terry worked for Midland Grain and Lumber, also for Nemec Lumber and Hardware, and later for the Haakon County Highway Department. Terry then returned to Midland where he worked part time at various jobs until moving to Pierre in 1981. While in Pierre, he worked for Paul Patzer doing janitor work. In 1986, he returned to Midland. Due to health reasons, he moved to Yankton for a year before moving to Watertown in 1988, where he has since resided. While in Watertown he worked for Lake Region Mail Service.

Terry was a very giving person, remembering and sending birthday and thank-you notes to one and all. He especially enjoyed making personalized handkerchiefs.
