Helen was a teacher’s aide at Cheyenne rural school and later Plum Creek school in Haakon County. She later worked part time at First National Bank in Philip and part-time at Jones’ Bottle and Vet. She later worked full time as a bookkeeper for First National Bank, where she has been employed for over 20 years.

Helen enjoyed reading , cooking, and everything to do with horses.

Grateful for having shared her life include her husband Tom of Philip; one son Tommy Harty and his wife Alice of Milesville; one daughter Victoria “Vicki” Cook and Narcisso of New Underwood; two grandsons Billy and Tyler Cook; one sister Rosemary Christenson and her husband Jim of Katy, Texas; a sister-in-law Linda Pankratz of Marion; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother Bill Pankratz.
