I have many fond memories of the Christmas dinners at Clarence & Edna's home. I remember Clarence taking us sledding whenever there was snow and I remember that pump in your kitchen sink that actually worked. I have a picture of Clarence & Edna holding my daughter, Melissa and her cousin, Jenny on their first Christmas - 1978. I remember hearing my Grandma Cora talk about what a good friend Edna was to her and how they helped each other out during some pretty tough times. Clarence and Edna were both good friends to my grandparents and also to my dad and his siblings. I've always considered them a part of our family. I remember inviting Bonnie to go to church with me on Christmas Eve one year and she graciously said thank you but she would be spending it with her mom at the nursing home. I don't think Bonnie missed too many days visiting her mom, even if it meant walking in the cold. Edna lived a long life and I'm thankful that I was able to be a part of it. Peace and blessings to all the family!
