Paula Fauskeof Wall, South Dakota, died on Monday, January 6, 2003

Paula was born December 20, 1915 to Albert and Emilie (Hirsch) Kraft at Yale, South Dakota. She graduated from Wall High School and completed one year at Black Hills Teacher’s College. She taught country school southeast of Quinn, South Dakota prior to marrying Ingebert Fauske in June, 1937. After their marriage the couple lived in New Mexico and Bison, South Dakota prior to establishing a farming and ranching operation on the Fauske homestead in western Jackson County.
Paula was an inspiration to her family and others through her kindness, nurturing guidance and strong faith. She was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Wall where she served as choir director for nearly thirty years, including director of the choir for regional Reformation rallies. Throughout her life she was active in various farm, community, political, and educational organizations.
Grateful for having shared her life are her seven children, Norman Fauske and his wife, Lorraine of Wall, Esther Schrunk and her husband Robert of Marshall, Minnesota, David Fauske and his wife Donna of Wall, Barbara Fauske of Castle Rock, Colorado, Mary Tweden and her husband Dale of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Karen Lamback and her husband James of Schenectady, New York, and Paul Fauske of Castle Rock, Colorado; sixteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one brother Alton Kraft of Grand Island, Nebraska; five sisters Frieda Goldhammer of Wagner, Ann Sieler of Winner, Goldie Eisenbraun of Creighton, Gertrude Ring of Parker, and Margaret Bousfield of Parker; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Paula was preceded in death by her husband, Ingebert Fauske on July 24, 1998; her parents; three brothers, Emil, Walter and Albert Kraft; and one sister, Esther Wilkerson.
Visitation was held 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Wall.
Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 10, at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wall, with Vicar Monty Dell officiating.
Interment was in the Wall Cemetery.
