DeWayne Miller

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Saturday, November 27, 2004
at the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, South Dakota at the age of 61

DeWayne D. Miller was born January 10, 1943, in Kulm, North Dakota, the son of Theodore and Lorraine (Jerke) Miller. He grew up in Kulm until the 6th grade, when he and his family moved to Philip, South Dakota. DeWayne grew up and received his education in Philip, graduating from Philip High School in 1963.

After graduation, he remained in Philip, until moving to Minneapolis, where he worked as a sales clerk. After a number of years in Minneapolis, DeWayne moved back to Philip. Later, DeWayne moved to Yankton, South

Dakota where he remained until October 2, 2000 when health reasons forced him into the Aurora-Brule Nursing Home in White Lake, where he has since resided.

DeWayne was an avid Elvis Presley fan and enjoyed reading and playing cards.

Survivors include two sisters, Joan Patterson and her husband Jerry of Kadoka, and Carlyn Williams and her husband DeLayne of Philip; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Dewayne was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Lorraine (Jerke) Miller, and an infant sister, Inis Iris Miller.

Visitation was held 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 30, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, at the Evangelical Free Church in Philip, with Pastor Gary Wahl officiating.

Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery.

A memorial is established.
