Robert "Bob" Simpfenderfer, Jr.

Robert "Bob" Simpfenderfer, Jr., also known as "Snuffy" to his family and friends, was born June 3, 1949, in Wall, South Dakota, to Robert Sr. and Lola (Hall) Simpfenderfer.  He grew up on his parents' farm five miles south of Wall.  He graduated from Wall Public High School in 1968.

From 1968 until 1970 he farmed with his parents.  In the fall of 1970 he started working for Estes Brothers, Inc. of Wall.  When Estes Brothers, Inc. sold out, he went to work for Kitterman Redi-Mix, where he was employed at the time of his death.

Bob was baptized and confirmed member of the First Lutheran Church in Wall.  He served as an usher and on the building committee for the new classroom addition.

Bob is survived by his mother, Lola Simpfenderfer of Wall; one brother, Van Simpfenderfer, and his wife, Cathy, of Wall; three sisters, Linda, and her husband, Ken Jarvis of Pierre, Retha Simpfenderfer of Wall, and Kathy Simpfenderfer of Harlingen, Texas; four nephews: Jason Jarvis of Reno, Nevada; Jerry and Jordan Jarvis of Pierre; and Blake Simpfenderfer of Wall; one niece, Erin Simpfenderfer of Wall; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Sr., one brother, Gary, and one nephew, Paul.

A memorial has been established for the First Lutheran Church in Wall, the Wall Fire Department, and the Wall Ambulance Department.
