Brandon D. Koehn

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Monday, September 16, 1996
near Vivian at the age of 18

Brandon Dale Koehn was born July 6, 1978, at Garden City, Kansas, the son of Dale and Donna (Knight) Koehn.

His early childhood began in Garden City where he received his first two years of elementary schooling.  In October of 1987, he moved with his parents and brother to Philip, South Dakota, where he grew up and completed his education.  While in Philip High School he participated in wrestling, football, and track.

Brandon was baptized by his paternal grandfather, Lowell Koehn, at the Bible Christian Church in Garden City on August 28, 1991.

In the summer months, Brandon worked part-time for Ravellette Publications in Philip.  In June of 1996, he became employed as a laborer for the J.V. Bailey Construction Co., Inc., doing construction work on U.S. Interstate 90 near Vivian, South Dakota.  He and his girlfriend, Julie Smith, both died in an accident at that construction site.

Brandon was a member of the Bible Christian Church of Garden City and attended the United Church in Philip.

Besides art work, Brandon's other hobbies included camping, boating, fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, Dale and Donna Koehn of Philip; his brother, Brian Koehn of Philip; his paternal grandparents, Lowell and Hazel Koehn of Garden City, Kansas; several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends.

Brandon was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Milo and Tae Knight.
