Joseph "Joe" Foleyof Ft. Pierre, South Dakota, formerly of Philip, South Dakota, died on Saturday, September 23, 1995

Joseph E. Foley, better known as Joe to his family and friends, was born April 17, 1932, on his parents' ranch in the Dowling, South Dakota, area, near Ash Creek, to Patrick M. and Eva M. (Park) Foley.
He grew up on the ranch and received his elementary education in that community and then attended Rapid City High School prior to graduating from Wall High School. As a young man he ranched northwest of Philip, South Dakota.
Joe was united in marriage to Beverly J. Jacobsen on July 13, 1973, at Philip.
They made their home on a ranch in the Pedro area where they ranched until 1981 when they moved to Lebanon, Oregon. While in Oregon they opearted a hog confinement operation until moving back to Philip in 1985. He worked as a custodian at the Philip school system until 1989 when they moved to Kadoka where he was head custodian at the Kadoka school system until retiring in the spring of 1994. They continued to reside in Kadoka until June of 1995 when they moved to Ft. Pierre.
Joe was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Beverly Foley of Ft. Pierre; three sons, Mike Foley and his wife, Jane, of Marshalltown, Iowa, Willie and John Foley, both of Ft. Pierre; three daughters, Kathy Miller and her husband, Robert, of Rapid City, Jodi and Lisa Foley, both of Ft. Pierre; four grandchildren: Paige, Jeremy, Seth and Sean; three brothers, James Foley and his wife, Betty, of Rapid City; Thomas Foley and his wife, Ann, of Philip; and Carlyle Foley and his wife, Mary, of Sacramento, California; one sister, Nellie Kellogg and her husband, Robert, of Standish, Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Pat and Eva Foley.
A memorial is established.
