Myrtle B. Paulsenof Wall, South Dakota, died on Friday, December 30, 1994

Myrtle B. Barton was born June 12, 1909, at Ortho, Iowa, to John and Lucy (Breeden) Barton.
As a child she moved with her parents to a homestead in the Creighton, South Dakota, area. She grew up on the homestead and received her education in the Squaw Creek Rural School. Myrtle worked in various places in Wall as a young lady.
She was united in marriage to John F. "Johnny" Paulsen on June 15, 1932, at Philip, South Dakota.
They made their home on a ranch north of Wall, which they operated until 1957 when they moved into Wall. While in Wall they owned and operated the Rest Haven Motel for 13 years. She then worked at the Wall Drug Store until retiring.
Her husband, Johnny, preceded her in death on January 7, 1994.
Myrtle was a member of the United Methodist Church; the Order of the Eastern Star, Golden Link Chapter #140; and the Pennicle Extension Club.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Jack Paulsen and his wife, Sharon, of Sioux Falls; one grandson, Damond Paulsen of Sioux Falls; one brother, Bill Barton of Rapid City; two sisters, Lucille Halverson and Arvella White, both of Rapid City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Johnny Paulsen, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Frances and Alva Barton.
A memorial is established.
