Ann O. Sheeley

Ann O. Ahboltin was born July 17, 1914, on a ranch near Lance Creek in Stanley County to Samuel and Lihse (Sihlis) Ahboltin.  She grew up on the ranch and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church near Hayes, South Dakota.

She attended Brady Elementary Rural School near Lance Creek prior to graduating from Ft. Pierre High School.  As a young lady she attended beauty school in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Ann worked as a beauty operator in Newell, South Dakota, in 1936 she moved to Midland where she owned and operated Ann's Beauty Salon, which was located in the C.J. Russell residence.

Ann was united in marriage to Ervin E. Sheeley on February 5, 1939, at Pierre, South Dakota.

They made their home in Midland where Ann continued to operate the beauty salon until 1943.  In 1943 they became bulk agents for the Standard Oil Company, serving the Midland area.  In 1959 they acquired the propane business and established Erv's Gas and Farm Store, which they operated until retiring.

Ann was a member of the Open Bible Standard Church and the Midland Senior Citizens where she served as president in 1986; was an auxiliary member of the Gideons, and a member of the Birthday Club.

Grateful for having shared her life are her husband, Ervin Sheeley of Midland; a son, Robert Sheeley and his wife, Doris, of Midland; a daughter, Beverly Johnson and her husband, Rev. Luther Johnson, of Denver, Colorado; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Charles Ahboltin of Hayward, California, and Fred Ahboltin of Eureka, California; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, John, William, and Henry Ahboltin; and a sister, Ermina Brewe.

A memorial is established to the Open Bible Standard Church of Midland.
