Larry J. Jensenof Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, June 6, 1990

Larry Joe Jensen was born April 13, 1935, at Brentford, South Dakota, to H. Pete and Esther (Anderson) Jensen.
He grew up in the Brentford area and graduated from Brentford High School.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his discharge he returned to the Brentford area prior to moving to Pierre where he worked as a route salesman for Tom's Candy Company.
He was united in marriage to Patty Kingery on August 10, 1957, at Pierre, South Dakota. They lived in Brentford where Larry worked for the South Dakota Wheat Growers Association.
In 1958 they moved to the Kadoka area where he worked for various farmers and ranchers. He then worked for the South Dakota Department of Highways in the maintenance department for 12 years. Since 1975 he was self-employed in Kadoka.
Larry attended the Presbyterian Church, was a member of the American Legion Post #27 where he had served as commander, was a member of the Kadoka Volunteer Fire Department, the Kadoka Commnity Betterment Association, the Kadoka Rodeo, the Kadoka Roping Club, the Family Wagon Train, and the Days of '76 Wagon Train.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Patty Jensen, of Kadoka; three sons, Wes and Jeff Jensen of Gillette, Wyoming, and Casey Jensen of Kadoka; one daughter, Lory (Mrs. Scott) Walker of Kadoka; three grandchildren, Beau and Lacy Walker of Kadoka, and Katie Jensen of Gillette, Wyoming; his mother, Esther Jensen of Brentford, South Dakota; one brother, Vernon Jensen of Aberdeen, South Dakota; two sisters, Lynda LaBrie of Corona, California, and Erlaine (Mrs. Raymond) Braun of Mellette, South Dakota.
Larry was preceded in death by one daughter, Tammy Rae Jensen; his father, H. Pete Jensen; and one brother, Roger Jensen.
