Kenneth Buchholz was born July 23, 1928, at Philip, South Dakota, to William and Mae (Deburn) Buchholz. He grew up on his parents' homestead northeast of Philip. He attended Old Trail Rural School prior to graduating from Philip High School.
Kenneth worked for various ranchers in the Philip and Wall areas.
He was united in marriage to Ramona Logan on April 22, 1950, at Rapid City. They lived in the Philip area where Kenneth continued to work in ranching and farming.
They lived in the Eagle Butte area for two years prior to moving onto his parents' homestead in May 1960. They have operated the ranch-farm until the time of his death.
Kenneth was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona, of Philip; four sons, David of Williston, North Dakota, Bill of Longvalley, South Dakota, John of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and Steve of Philip; two daughters, Karen (Mrs. Allan) Chapman of Denver, Colorado, and Carol Prichard of Wanblee, SouthDakota; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Viken of Newell, South Dakota, and Cora Ellen Buchholz of Rapid City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Victoria Ann Chapman, his parents, and one brother, Paul Buchholz.
A memorial has been established.
