Elizabeth Denke was born December 1, 1905, in Clayton to Wilhelm and Freidericka (Huber) Drewitz and was raised at Clayton.
She was united in marriage to Henry A. Denke on June 8, 1933, at Clayton. They later farmed in the Creighton area, and in 1964 they moved to Wall. Mrs. Denke was a member of the First Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
She entered the Mitchell Nursing Home in 1986 and the Scottsbluff nursing home in 1988.
Survivors include three daughters, Adella (Mrs. Harold) Sorensen of Gering, Nebraska, Alice (Mrs. Wesley) Dewey of Cairo, Nebraska, and Christina (Mrs. Julius) Eisenbraun of Mitchell; a son, Daniel Denke of Aurora, Colorado; a sister, Anna Jaton of Mitchell; and nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and two sisters.
