Inga Nielson

of Philip, South Dakota, died on Monday, May 27, 1985
at the Philip Nursing Home in Philip at the age of 93

Inga M. Nielson was born on September 19, 1891, in Denmark to Niels and Rassmine Nielson. As a young girl she immigrated to the United States and to Brookings County, South Dakota. She continued her education in Brookings Rural School. In 1907 Inga moved with her parents to a homestead northwest of Milesville, South Dakota. They continued to farm northwest of Milesville and Inga and her brother, Carl, continued to farm and take care of their parents. Inga and Carl continued to farm until selling the farm and moving into Philip in 1972. Inga moved into the Philip Nursing Home in August 1984 where she resided until her death.

Survivors include one sister, Agnes Hareide of Milesville; five nieces, Florence (Ike) Dale of Amarillo, Texas, Mary Ruark of Rapid City, Helen Peterson of Brookings, Marian Boland of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Dorothy Ishol of Brookings; one nephew, Lewis Nielson of Volga, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Inga was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Carl and Alfred.
