Anna's Register Book Back to Obituaries
She grew up on the farm and received her education in rural schools in that community. As a young lady she worked with her parents on the family farm. Anna was united in marriage to Richard Brown in 1940 and to this union was born two children, Peggy and Harry. On October 17, 1956 she was united in marriage to Clifford L. Brown in Philip, SD and to this union was born a daughter, Zella. They made their home on Clifford’s farm – ranch until 1999 when they retired and moved into the Senechal Apartments in Philip. After her husband’s death on April 6, 2002, Anna continued to live in the Senechal until her death. Grateful for having shared her life are her two daughters, Peggy Jezwinski of Wasilla, Alaska and Zella Sundquist and her husband, Orrin of Wasta, SD; four grandchildren, Shara Dart and her husband, Jeffery of Rapid City and Phane Sundquist of Wasta; Harlan Sieler of Reva, SD and Kim Sieler of Rapid City, SD; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Wallace Oudekerk of Old Home, Arkansas amd a sister, Elizabeth Larson of Tacoma, Washington; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Clifford, Anna was preceded in death by a son, Harry Brown, her parents, and four brothers and four sisters. Funeral services for Anna Brown, age 82, of Philip were held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 4, 2003 at the United Church in Philip with Pastor Jeff Tippner officiating. Anna died Saturday night, May 31, 2003 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. Visitation was held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Rush Funeral Chapel in Philip and one hour before the services at the church on Wednesday. Interment was in the Masonic Cemetery of Philip. SERVICES 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2003 United Church Philip, South Dakota
