Carrie B. Anderson, age 99, of Wall, died Tuesday, December 19, 2006, at the Good Samaritan Center in New Underwood.

Carrie B. Erickson was born August 8, 1907, in Springbrook Township near Halma, Minnesota, the daughter of Gustaf and Anna (Vernes) Erickson.

She grew up and received her education in the Halma area. As a young lady she worked for various farmers in that area.

Carrie was united in marriage to Anton Westberg on June 25, 1925 in Kennedy, Minnesota. They farmed in the Kennedy area until Anton’s death on October 17, 1945.

On February 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Albin Anderson at Roseau, Minnesota. They made their home in Karlstad, Minnesota for two years prior to moving to Wagner, South Dakota in the early 1950’s. In 1966, they moved to Wall, where they operated the Pioneer Laundry for Lester Baker. In 1968, they retired and moved to Wasta, where they resided until moving into the Prairie Village apartments in 1987.

Carrie was a member of the Wall Methodist Church and a former member of the Wasta Methodist Church where she had served as president of the Ladies Aid. Carrie was a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Rebecca Lodge, a member of the Wagner American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary.

Grateful for having shared her life include a nephew Paul Goldhammer of Wall, and his children Jay Goldhammer and his wife Jana of Sheridan, Wyoming, Tim Goldhammer and his wife Beth of Hebron, Nebraska, Lacey Wellens and her husband Mark of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Patrick Goldhammer and his wife Shawna of Sheridan, Wyoming, and Kari Bappe and her husband Scott of Moville, Iowa; one brother Raymond Erickson of Minnesota; and one sister Ruth Tenold of Minnesota.

Carrie was preceded in death by her first husband Anton Westberg, her second husband Albin Anderson, a niece, whom they raised, Mary Goldhammer , her parents; six sisters Jennie Lofberg, Minnie Lysford, Grace Kiesow, Agnes Tuerson,  Selma, Ella, and Anna Mae; and five brothers Roy, Lester, Fred, Albert, and Leslie Erickson.

Visitation was held one hour preceding the services at the church.

Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, at the United Methodist Church in Wall, with Pastor Mark Ford officiating.

Interment will be 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at Black Hills National Cemetery, with Chaplain Willard Olsen officiating.

A memorial is established.

Arrangements are with the Rush Funeral Chapel of Wall.
