Lynda's Register Book Back to Obituaries
Lynda was united in marriage to Bennie Anderson on September 13, 1937 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. They made their home in Midland. After her two daughters were in school, she worked as a cook at a local restaurant and later as a clerk in a grocery store until retiring in early 1974. Her husband Bennie preceded her in death on August 19, 1963. Lynda continued to reside in Midland until July of 1996. Due to health reasons, she moved into the Philip Nursing Home in December 1996, where she has since resided. Lynda attended the Open Bible Church of Midland. She was a member of the Midland Senior Citizens, and the Midland Birthday Club. She served as Midland Town Clerk for many years, and belonged several years to the New Century Club. Grateful for having shared her life are two daughters Leilani Hand and her husband Tom of Midland, and Shari Kaye Anderson of Pierre; three grandchildren Byron Hand and his wife Tracey of Midland, Duane Hand and his wife Annette of Midland, and Bradley Hand and his wife Beth of Mitchell; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Alvin and Walter Reinschmidt; and one sister Clara Root. Lynda B. Anderson, age 91, of Midland, died Sunday, March 14, 2004 at the Philip Nursing Home. Visitation was held 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2004 at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday. Funeral services were held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at the Open Bible Church in Midland, with Pastor Dan Carlson officiating. Interment was in the Midland Cemetery. A memorial is established.
