As my friend, Rex's daughter Stacy continues to be a guiding force touching
other's lives through friendship, dedication, hard work and loyalty we have
evidence that Rex's legacy lives on through his children who spread his values
throughout the nation. My deepest prayers are with the entire
family. Stacy & Marcy if you need anything, don't hesitate to

This note is for all of you as my thoughts and prayers are with you in the
sorrow that you feel. I know that you all have great memories of Rex and
as I think of him I will always remember a strong Uncle with a presence that
commanded respect. I remember him as bigger than life, gentle with children as
he played and teased them, loving to all who hurt yet willing to always stand
his ground. He was such a wonderful man who loved his family, his livestock and
took care of business. Rex worked hard and played hard and always did it in the
right order. I'll never forget him calling me by the nickname he bestowed
upon me as a young boy, STRINGBEAN, I can hear him saying it now as well as the
things that he taught me: how to milk a cow, how to fix a fence, how to take
down a calf heat up the iron and put the brand on with the least amount of
suffering and so much more. He was a good friend and the best of Uncles. I just
wanted you to know that all of us Hawley's will miss him dearly and remember him
for the great man that he was. My sympathy goes out to you for our loss in his
passing.

Thanks for sharing the video with our family. It brought back so many
fun memories of growing up and visiting the ranch back in 60s and 70s.
When our children met Rex two years ago they referred to him as Grandpa Rex.
They loved him instantly. He had that kind of effect on everyone he met
young and old. God bless you all. The Hawleys

Jeanne and family:
I had registered a few days ago, but do not see my entry, so I'm resending to
make sure you know how much I wish we could be there to share all the great Rex
stories and to remember a great guy. Going home just won't be the same
without Rex being there with his great laugh and sense of humor. He always
managed to get a hug and kiss from me whenever I saw him. He left a great
legacy in a great family.
Love, Kara

Dear Jeanne and family,
Being new in the Milesville area when I married Tom, Rex and Jeanne made me feel
welcome right away. I will remember the branding, feeds and get togethers.
Rex had a contagious smile that made you smile also, along with his hugs.
My thoughts and prayers are with you all. May you find peace as days go
by.

I remember as a girl, loving to get to go to the neighbors to
"play". The Radway house was always fun, unless Jeanne was
giving out shots! Over the years I would see Tom and Marie, Stacy, Mark
and Judith, and of course, whoever was at the wrestling meets! Anytime I
ran into a Radway "kid", they always had a hug, story, and the warmest
smile and laughter....truly characteristic of their parents. Please know that
Jeff and I are thinking of you all and ask that God gives you strength for the
coming days and peace as you accept your incredible loss.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss, Rex was someone that I loved to run into at T-34
and around at local events, he always took the time to see what I had been up to
share what he had been up too. It always meant a lot to me. I regret not
being able to attend the funeral, (I won't be moving back to the States until
next week) My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sad time. My grandpa Ike
always said" Rex is a great guy". - I'll miss seeing his friendly
face, Amanda

Our deepest sympathy to all of you!! So hard and sad when you lose a loved
one. I will always treasure the times I shared with Rex at branding season when
he was in his kidding moods. He always had a hug to go along with his kind
teasing and wrestling with me. I have thought of him as a caring and thoughtful
friend with that mischievous trait. You had to watch your p's and q's around
Uncle Pug and Rex. When they were together, they were quite a pair. What
memories!!! There are so many I will never forget. They will be with me forever.
Country living agreed with him well and I was honored to know your family.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to you!!! Tears will be shared!! He was such a
great person!!!! Joan

You are all in my thoughts and prayers during this time of grief. Rex
was a great man and I have many fond memories of him. It didn't matter if we
were in the wheat field, working cattle, playing cards at the kitchen table, or
"relaxing" at the family reunion. He always had that devilish grin and
love for life, especially family. He will be sorely missed by all of the family
and neighbors of the Philip and Milesville communities.

Karen just called and sorry to hear about Rex. We will be watching for when
the services are. I called the Custer relatives to let them know. It is hard to
let them go but he is in peace now.
