In memory of

Walter "Bud" LaFee

of Nampa, Idaho, formerly of Milesville, South Dakota, died on Monday, December 13, 2010 in Nampa, Idaho with his family by his side at the age of 82

Bud was born September 19, 1928 in Milesville, South Dakota to George
and Stella (Vandehei) LaFee. He attended Hardingrove School and then went into the Army in May 1951. In October of 1951 he married Neva Hagler and was then sent to Korea to serve as a wireman in the 176th Field Artillery.
     Upon returning to Milesville, he resumed his ranching/farming career
until 1970. They had four children: Rod, Rick, Mike, and Nancy.  In 1970 they moved to Idaho where he worked in construction and later at The Boise-Meridian Irrigation District, retiring in 1990.
     Bud’s favorite things in life was spending time with his family and reminiscing. He enjoyed gardening and returning home to South Dakota to the farm as often as possible.
     He had two brothers and five sisters. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Robert LaFee, and two sisters, Arlene Hausman and Grace O'Reilly.
     Bud is survived by his wife, Neva and his children: Rodney and Judy of Kuna, Idaho, Richard and Virginia of Donnelly, Idaho,  Michael of Nampa, and Nancy and Mike Virgin of New Meadows, Idaho.  He had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; three sisters Viola Royer of Belle Fourche, Hazel Kern of Plankington, South Dakota, and Madge Yarnel of Bend, Oregon. 
     In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be made to the Boise Valley Church of the Brethren Building Fund. 
     Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 19, at the Greenhurst Bible Church in Nampa, Idaho.
     Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29, at the Masonic Cemetery in Philip, South Dakota.

  • So saddened and surprised to see this notification. Thoughts and prayers go out to each of you. It's never easy to lose a loved one and even harder I suspect during the holidays.
