of Kadoka, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, May 29, 1991 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 50
Blaine F. Dinsmore was born December 1, 1940, at Pierre, South Dakota, to Frank B. and Matilda (Owens) Dinsmore.
He grew up in the Midland area and graduated from Midland High School in 1959.
Blaine did various jobs in that area including working on the construction of the Missile sites and road construction including the Interstate 90 as well as carrying mail from Midland to Hayes.
He was married to Shirley Rittle Gould in 1966.
They made their home in Kadoka where he worked as a custodian at the Kadoka High School and also at the Conoco Station. Later he opearted the Star Mail Route between Midland and Hayes.
Blaine was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Ainslie on September 12, 1986, at Midland, South Dakota.
They continued to make their home in Kadoka where they continued to operate the Star Route to Hayes and also operated a star route between Kadoka and Hisle, South Dakota.
He was also in partnership with Wendell Buxcel in the tree service operation in the Kadoka area, a position he held until health reasons forced him to sell.
Blaine moved into the Philip Nursing Home in April of 1991.
He was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Badlands Lions Club, both of Kadoka. He also was a member of the Star Route Mail Carriers Association.
Because of his love for music he organized the Farmhands Band which played in western South Dakota, and he later founded the Country Good Times Band which continued until his failing health in 1989.
He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and bowling.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Mary Ellen Dinsmore, of Kadoka; two daughters, Patricia (Mrs. Richard) Johnson, and Judy Lobdell, both of Kadoka; four sons, Gene Gould of Rapid City, Gerald Gould of Mosinee, Wisconsin, Tony Gould of Kadoka, and David Gould of Gillette, Wyoming; ten grandchildren; his mother, Matilda Dinsmore of Midland, South Dakota; one brother, Vincent Dinsmore of Midland; two sisters, Sister Cherylyn Dinsmore of Watertown and Pierre, South Dakota, and Ruby (Mrs. Ted) Engelhaupt of St. Paul, Minnesota; two aunts, Genevieve Owens of Midland, and Ethel Leverton of Freeport, Illinois; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, and one sister, Mary Dinsmore.
