In memory of

Gaylord Saucerman

of Midland, South Dakota, died on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Hans P. Peterson Memorial Hospital in Philip at the age of 85

Gaylord Ford Saucerman was born May 18, 1929, at WeWela, South Dakota, the son of John and Leola Saucerman, at the home of his maternal grandparents, Frank and Mattie Poler.

Gaylord resided with his parents on their farm-ranch in rural Stanley County. He attended Liberty School throughout his grade school years. He attended Ft. Pierre High School his freshman year, and then attended Midland High School the last three years.

Gaylord was united in marriage to Wilma Schofield on June 12, 1953. They had two children, Clint and Sheri, and continued living on the ranch, in Stanley County until 1966, when they moved to a ranch near Midland, on the Bad River.

Gaylord is survived by his wife Wilma; a son Clint and his wife Prerry of Midland; his daughter Sheri Wiechmann of Rapid City; three grandsons Tel Saucerman of Rapid City, Ty and Talon Saucerman of Aurora, Colorado; three granddaughters Noel Vohlken and Cori Carroll of Rapid City, and Raquel Croell of Sundance, Wyoming; 10 much loved great-grandchildren; his brother Calvin Saucerman and his wife Patricia; a sister Joy Jones and her husband Jerry of Midland; a sister Gloria Smith and her husband Al of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Gaylord was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Visitation was held 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31, at the Rush Funeral Home in Philip, and one hour preceding the services at the church on Wednesday.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Midland, with Pastor Lauren Ley officiating.

Interment was at the Nowlin Cemetery.
