In memory of

Sheila Drees

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Monument Health Lead-Deadwood Hospital at the age of 61

Sheila A. Roehler was born August 27th, 1959 in Estherville, Iowa, one of six children of Merton and Shirley (Turck) Roehler. After graduating from Estherville High School, Sheila moved to Wall South Dakota where she met the love of her life; Steve Drees. On May 1st, 1982, Steve and Sheila were married at the Chapel in the Hills in Rapid City, South Dakota.

After working for twenty-five years at the First Interstate Bank in Wall, Sheila decided to quit the work force and join her husband in the wonderful life of retirement.

Sheila loved working around her house both indoors and out. She loved gardening, baking, taking care of her “children” Spider and Jet, her horses, and Barkley and Squeakers her cats. Visiting family and friends would always leave with some of her homemade goodies. She enjoyed going out to the ranch to spend some peaceful time with nature.

Grateful for sharing her life include her husband Steve of Wall; a sister Sheryl Hicks and her husband Larry of Deadwood; three brothers Merton Roehler II and his wife Shari of Estherville, Iowa, Michael Roehler and his wife Elizabeth "Penny" of Swea City, Iowa, and Merlin "Pat" Roehler and his wife Chris of Spirit Lake, Iowa; sister-in-law Sherrill Bessey of Sioux Falls; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Sheila was preceded in death by her mother Shirley (Turck) Roehler; a sister Sharon Roehler Howell; and a brother Mark Roehler.

Sheila's life was short, but every moment we spent with her was so very special. She left to soon; her wings were ready, but our hearts were not. She will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2021 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wall with Father Tyler Dennis officiating. Visitation and luncheon will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Wall.

Interment will follow at the Wall Cemetery.
