Goldie Irene Walker was born on September 28, 1897 in Niobrara, Nebraska to William and Mary (Davis) Walker. As a young girl she moved with her parents to Kalispell, Montana and then in 1910 they moved to a farm near Kennebec, South Dakota where she grew up.

Goldie was united in marriage to Jens Jensen on March 3, 1915, in Oacoma, South Dakota. After their marriage they farmed near Kennebec until moving to a homestead 10 miles southeast of Belvidere in 1917. In 1918 they returned to the farm near Kennebec until the spring of 1920 when they moved back to the Belvidere area where they continued to farm and ranch.

In 1950 they moved to a small ranch in the Hill City, South Dakota area until retiring in February 1959 and moving back to Belvidere.

Her husband, Jens, preceded her in death in March of 1959. Goldie continued to make her home in Belvidere. She moved to the Kadoka Retirement Home in July 1980 where she resided until her death.

Survivors include two sons, Dale Jensen of Belvidere, and Virgil Jensen of Kimball, South Dakota; three daughters, Gladys (Alvin) Hix of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Delores (John) Bonenberger of Belvidere, and Ilove Sanftner of Belvidere; 8 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jens, in 1959; one son, Stanley as an infant in 1917; one grandson, Kurt Bonenberger in 1956; her parents; and one brother, Murrett Walker in 1923.
