In memory of

Lydia Shepard

of Wall, South Dakota, died on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the Philip Nursing Home at the age of 86

Lydia Shepard was born on January 13, 1933, to Myron "Pete" and Olga (Lanning) Huffman in Wall, South Dakota.

She attended Cedar Butte Country School through grade school then high school at Wall, graduating in 1951.

Lydia was united in marriage to Darwin "Smokey" Shepard on March 23, 1951. To this union a son and a daughter were born, Randy and Vickie.

After Darwin was discharged from the service they remained in Wall where Darwin worked for the WREA for a number of years then purchased a bulk fuel business with Lydia doing the books, and Darwin running the trucks.

Survivors include one son, Randy (Deb) Shepard of Henderson, Nevada; one daughter, Vickie (Curt) Willuweit of Wall; four grandsons, Keith Eisenbraun of Wright, Wyoming, Ryan Eisenbraun of Wall, Brian Shepard of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Brady Shepard of Henderson, Nevada; one granddaughter, Heather Beck of Selby, South Dakota; eight great-grandchildren; a good friend, Doug Crown; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin “Smokey” Shepard and her parents.

A memorial visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, October 20, at the Rush Funeral Home in Wall.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, at the Wall Cemetery with Pastor Chris Stewart officiating.
