Kenneth "Ken" Jarvis

of Pierre, South Dakota, died on Saturday, February 17, 2001
at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 61

Kenneth L. "Ken" Jarvis was born May 1, 1939 in Chadron, Nebraska the son of Clarence and Amanda (Fauske) Jarvis.

Ken grew up on a farm north of Interior and attended Interior Schools where he graduated in 1957.  He attended S.D.S.U. and an electronics technical school in Denver.

Ken married Linda Simpfenderfer on October 16, 1971 in Wall.  They lived in Colorado and Aberdeen before moving to Pierre in 1983 where they have since resided.

Kenneth held various jobs before working the last thirty years for Midcontinent Communications, where he was known as "Doc."  Ken was an avid Nascar fan and enjoyed fishing and camping.  He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Pierre.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Linda Jarvis, of Pierre, SD; three sons, Jason Jarvis and his fiance Mary, Jerry Jarvis, and Jordan Jarvis, all of Pierre; two granddaughters, Elisha and Jaina; and one brother, Lyle Jarvis and his wife Carol Rae of Philip; three nieces; one nephew; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.
