Delbert Paulsenof Wall, South Dakota, died on Sunday, July 2, 2000

Delbert D. Paulsen was born December 16, 1926, on a farm near Wall, South Dakota, the son of Nile Devane and Vernie M. (Foster) Paulsen.
He spent his entire life on the farm-ranch 13 miles northwest of Wall. He received his grade school education in the Cedar Butte School and graduated from Wall High School in 1944.
He was united in marriage to Jacqueline "Jackie" Smoot on April 20, 1947, at Rapid City.
Delbert served on the Cedar Butte School Board and the Cedar Butte Township Board for several years. He was selected as Pennington County's Outstanding Young Farmer for 1959. He was a member of the International Order of Odd Fellows and the Wall Methodist Church.
Grateful for having shared his life are his son and his wife, Paul and Pat Paulsen of Wall; four grandchildren, Jason and his wife, Aimee, Jennifer and her husband, Mike Casjens, Jeremy and Jesse, and one great-granddaughter, Jessica Casjens, all of Wall; a brother-in-law, John Smoot of Wall; a sister-in-law, Janis Bush of Wall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie; one son, Bruce; and his parents, Devane and Vernie.
A memorial is established.
