Richard C. Bruce was born June 22, 1955, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Charles and Ruth (Johnson) Bruce are his parents.
Richard grew up in the Wasta area where he received his elementary education prior to graduating from Wall High School in 1973. He attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota, and then served in the U.S. Army.
Richard was united in marriage to Cheryl Mae Roberg on May 11, 1977, at Wasta, South Dakota.
They made their home in several places in Western South Dakota prior to moving to the Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin, area in 1982. Richard worked for the Fiberdome in Lake Mills, Wisconsin, until the time of hs death.
He was a member of the Wasta Methodist Church and the Wall Masonic Lodge #210. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed all kinds of wildlife, which was evident with many photos he produced in his photography hobby.
Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Cheryl Bruce of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin; a daughter, Angela Bruce of Ft. Atkinson, Wisconsin; his parents, Charles and Ruth Bruce of Wasta, South Dakota; a sister, Barbara Hall and her husband, Chris, of Box Elder, South Dakota; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joe and Mildred Bruce; and his maternal grandparents, Marvin and Margaret Johnson.
A memorial has been established.
