Stella M. Curtis Konrathof Rapid City, South Dakota, formerly of Philip, South Dakota, died on Thursday, May 24, 1990

Stella M. Chadwick was born March 24, 1919, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Elvin and Edith (Rush) Chadwick.
At the age of nine, she moved with her parents to a farm west of Cottonwood, South Dakota. She grew up there and received her education at the Highway School near Cottonwood.
As a young lady she worked for they NYA in Quinn.
She was united in marriage to Harold Curtis Sr. on September 27, 1941, at Rushville, Nebraska. They lived in the Milesville area where they worked for vairous farmers and ranchers until 1962 when they moved into Sturgis.
In 1966, because of health reasons, she moved into the Strathaven Nursing Home in Rapid City and later into the McKee Nursing Home in Stugis.
In November 1971 she married Edward Konrath. He preceded her in death on January 4, 1974.
She resided at the Quinn Nursing Home and the Philip Nursing Home prior to moving into a nursing home in Rapid City in 1985 so she could be closer to her family.
Stella was very fond of babies and children and had a love for music, which she played several different instruments.
Grateful for having shared her life are her three sons, Harold Cutis Jr. of Rapid City, Melvin Curtis of Gillette, Wyoming, and Richard Curtis of Brighton, Colorado; four daughters, JoAnn (Mrs. Ronald) Sanders of Rapid City, Deloris (Mrs. Floyd) Luken of Garland, Texas, Esther (Mrs. Harry) Leeper of Douglas, Wyoming, and Patty (Mrs. Gary) Senier of Story, Wyoming; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Johannesen of Quinn, South Dakota; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Stella was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Curtis Sr., on September 19, 1972; her second husband, Edward Konrath on January 4, 1974; two grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and her parents.
